Seachem Matrix 500 ml

Descrição

Seachem Matrix 500 ml

Seachem Matrix is a highly porous biomedia that provides efficient biological filtration for the removal of nitrogenous waste in both freshwater and marine aquariums.

Efficient Biological Filtration

Matrix™ is a porous inorganic solid, approximately 10 mm in diameter, designed to maximize the surface area available for beneficial bacteria. Unlike traditional plastic media, Matrix™ offers both external and internal macroporous surfaces, ideally sized to support nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. This dual-surface action allows Matrix™ to effectively remove ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate simultaneously within the same filter. Each liter of Matrix™ provides an impressive surface area of over 700 m², equivalent to approximately 170 liters of plastic bio-balls.

Key Features and Benefits

• High Capacity Biofiltration: Supports a large colony of beneficial bacteria for efficient waste removal.
• Simultaneous Waste Removal: Effectively removes ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate in a single filter.
• Extensive Surface Area: Over 700 m² of surface area per liter promotes robust bacterial growth.
• Supports Aerobic and Anaerobic Bacteria: Macroporous structure ideal for both nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria.
• Inert and Permanent: Matrix™ is completely inert, will not break down, and does not need replacement.
• Easy Maintenance: Can be rinsed as needed without damaging the bacterial colony, as most bacteria reside internally.
• Versatile Use: Compatible with all types of wet or wet-dry filters, including canister filters and drip tray systems.

Dosage and Usage

Use approximately 250 mL of Matrix™ for every 200 liters (50 US gallons) of aquarium water. Matrix™ can be placed in any type of filter. For optimal performance, ensure good water flow through the media. Seachem recommends using Stability® in conjunction with Matrix™ to rapidly establish the aquarium’s bio-filter.
