Accelerated Maturation and Biological Support

AquaForest Bio Sand is designed to significantly speed up the nitrogen cycle in both new and established marine aquariums. The included bottles contain laboratory-isolated strains of nitrifying bacteria and nourishment, which, when activated, facilitate rapid bacterial development and multiplication. This means a faster start for your aquarium’s biological filtration, leading to quicker elimination of harmful compounds and the ability to introduce livestock sooner. The sand’s calcium carbonate content also acts as a natural buffer, helping to stabilize pH and alkalinity levels essential for a healthy reef environment.

Ideal Substrate for Reef Inhabitants

With a grain size of 1–2 mm, this sand provides an aesthetically pleasing, natural white base that complements vibrant corals and marine life. It is suitable for a wide range of reef inhabitants, including SPS corals, LPS corals, and clams, offering optimal conditions for their health and growth.

Preparation and Usage

While the sand is safe, rinsing with RODI water before use is recommended to prevent initial water turbidity. To activate the bacteria, mix the contents of the included bottles with 3 liters of saltwater, add to a bag with the sand, and leave for 24 hours at a temperature of 25-28°C (77-82°F). Do not seal the bag during this period to allow for bacterial multiplication.
