Overview

Galaxea corals, often called Galaxy, Crystal, or Starburst Corals, are large polyp stony (LPS) corals showcasing a unique appearance. They form dome-shaped, columnar, or mounding colonies of calcareous skeletons from which individual polyps emerge. These polyps have small, crowded corallites with raised, star-shaped edges, often tipped with white or contrasting colors against a green, brown, pink, or purple base. They expand their tentacles, particularly at night, creating a mesmerizing display in your reef.
