Overview

Blastomussa corals, often called Blastos or Pineapple Corals, are striking Large Polyp Stony (LPS) corals known for their rounded, fleshy polyps in a dazzling array of colors like red, green, orange, and purple. Native to the Indo-Pacific, they typically inhabit lower reef slopes and crevices. While primarily photosynthetic, they benefit greatly from supplemental feeding, which enhances their vibrant coloration and encourages growth. Care Level

Diet

Blastomussa corals are photosynthetic but benefit from regular target feeding 1-3 times per week with small meaty foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or coral pellets to boost growth and coloration.
