Seachem Zeolite is a highly porous, naturally occurring mineral that effectively binds ammonia and heavy metals in both freshwater and marine aquariums through ion exchange.

How to Use

For optimal results, thoroughly rinse the Seachem Zeolite before use. Place it in your filter so that water flows through it efficiently, but avoid placing it where it can tumble and abrade itself. Using a filter bag, such as a Seachem Zip Bag, is recommended.

Dosage and Application

• Standard Dosage: Use 250 ml of Seachem Zeolite for every 200 liters (50 US gallons) of aquarium water. This amount can remove up to 0.5 mg/L of ammonia, with levels typically dropping to zero within 24-48 hours.
• Smaller Aquariums: For smaller tanks, use a dose of 5 ml (1 level teaspoon) per 4 liters (1 US gallon) of water.
• Ammonia Monitoring: Monitor ammonia levels during treatment.
• Post-Treatment: Once ammonia levels have dropped to zero, the zeolite can be removed or replaced with activated carbon, such as Seachem MatrixCarbon.
• Heavy Metal Removal: For ongoing heavy metal control, leave the zeolite in place and replace it monthly.
