The Aquael Fan Filter 3 Plus is a versatile internal aquarium filter designed for efficient mechanical and biological filtration, suitable for freshwater tanks between 150 and 250 liters.

Its large-pored sponge effectively traps both large and fine debris, while also serving as a home for beneficial bacteria that help convert toxic ammonia into less harmful nitrates. The inclusion of a plastic pre-filter further captures larger particles. The Fan Filter 3 Plus is designed for quiet and efficient operation, thanks to its sealed rotor chamber and low power consumption of just 12W. It offers adjustable flow control, allowing you to fine-tune the water circulation to your needs, and the outflow direction can be adjusted up to 75 degrees for optimal placement within your tank. A unique feature is the specially designed media chamber that prevents water from spilling back into the aquarium during maintenance or when the filter is removed for cleaning.

Filtration and Aeration

The Aquael Fan Filter 3 Plus performs both mechanical and biological filtration. It also offers effective aeration through an included nozzle, especially when the filter is positioned 3-4 cm below the water surface. An optional UV sterilizer can also be attached for further water clarity.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation is straightforward with the included suction cup holder or an L-shaped bracket. For maintenance, it is recommended to rinse the filter sponge in used aquarium water to preserve beneficial bacteria. The filter’s design minimizes the need for frequent cleaning, but regular checks ensure optimal performance.
